Letting Life Lead

Writing on the Fly #3: Neuron Dance (A Haiku)

In my head words live.

Neurons fire chemical pens.

I dream; stories wake.

Love the haiku. I have chemical pens in my head when I dream too, but sadly when I wake the next morning, I can’t read the handwriting.

    I love your haiku.
I dream so many stories but when I wake up they almost all vaporise.

That is exactly how I feel stories come about! They are all dormant, waiting to be woken and spread across the page!

Some of my best thinking occurs when I’m sleeping. Thank goodness for cell phones and Google Keep, were it not for this app I’d forget.

I used to keep a dream journal. I suppose now there is an app for everything. πŸ™‚

Tara, your haiku is just amazing. I think the key to meaningful Haiku is what I call “curating words” – juxtaposing words in a new and fresh way that we haven’t seen before. You’ve done this so nicely! πŸ™‚
