I have spoken a few times about my random, diverse interests. One of my guilty pleasures is YouTube. There is no rhyme nor reason to my favorites and saves, but there are several channels I go back to again and again and I thought I would share some of my tangents with you. I often browse YouTube when my children have me Nap Trapped.
First is the Key of Awesome. I am a fan of Weird Al Yankovic and a good parody just tickles me to the core. In my opinion Key of Awesome video parodies are solid without relying heavily on profanity, ear splitting autotune (they use it but sparingly–thank you), or go to the land of gratuitous meanness that leaves me feeling dirty. The first parody I ever saw them do was Katy Perry’s California Girls, but they have also had a good time with Ke$ha, Beiber, Jennifer Lopez, Pit Bull, Ariana Grande, Adele, and others. They also have a few original songs and have no trouble poking fun at themselves. Below is my current favorite because of all the word play: Dark Horse, by Katy Perry
