I often can’t sleep at night either due to my natural rhythm or children, and that means I might do things like read, write, play a mindless game, or search for random things on YouTube. This behavior hasn’t changed since I was a kid, except then I would get in trouble for being up late, and when I got a bit older it was a lot of late night TV.
I can’t remember how I stumbled upon James Townsend and Son and their 18th Century Cooking videos, but I do remember it began early in their third season and I watched them all in a blitz and I have been following them ever since. I have made a few of the recipes. The first one was the apple pudding, though I made them minis and they came out very much like dumplings. The focus is on cooking, but they also have a video where they build a cob oven which was way cool and led me to all sort of interesting similar videos about rocket stoves that I wasted a lot of time watching!
